Double down and Christmas Krushers 2010

Soon after the chili-lime chicken, KFC came up with another inovation... the KFC double down and the KFC Krushers Christmas Edition

Can you still remember KFC's chili-lime chicken?

I can be such a food faddie (Someone who follows food fads. Yes, I made it up! =P) at times. So when KFC came up with their Chili lime chicken last year, I made sure to try it even if it meant going out on a rainy Monday night.

I had great expectations...
Sadly, it failed to deliver. The chili-lime flavor can only be tasted on the chicken skin. I was hoping  I could taste it  on the meat as well. Oh well, it was worth a try.
This mango cream pie krushers drink is already a dessert  by itself.

oh my gulay!

There's another hole-in-the-wall place in Baguio which I frequent whenever I'm home. It has good food, great ambiance and a spectacular view of the city. It's a vegetarian resto but non-vegetarians need not fret as they do serve good crepes as well. =)

As for me, I'm sticking to my all-time favorites: lumpia salad and alfesto pasta.

Another day at Mercato

Last 05 November 2011 I revisited Mercato tagging along 2 of my friends.
One friend ordered liempo with rice. The pork was really good and the serving was big enough for 2 cups of rice.
I saw a new milk tea store so I tried it. - uhmmm... I've had better.
The isaw was not a hit among us. Only one friend liked it.
And this kebab was also not a hit. I was the only one who raved about the meat being juicy.
And this I got. I like lengua and although I finished the entire meal, I found the taste to be too salty.
Oh and there was a new store... a roti store at that!
So we tried it. We loved the Roti Canai - plain roti with some sort of curry dip. It was really good! We also got Chunky monkey - roti with peanut butter and banana.

Sweet Stop

If you're a sucker for mint like me, I'm sure you'll also love the mint brownies of the Sweet Stop. So if ever you're in Baguio, do look for this and grab a few... or better yet, buy a box! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. =)

O' Mai Khan

If there's one resto I grew-up with, it would definitely be O' Mai Khan. I think this is where I learned to eat veggies. It was not love at first eat though. As far as I can remember, I started out with the chicken lollipops when I was still a toddler. Then time came when I was already able to mix my own Mongolian bowl and I started eating veggies. Drinks also progressed from Iced tea to green mango shake. And dessert: from Millionaire's dream (strawberry and cream) to calamansi pie.

Cafe by the Ruins in Baguio

One of the must-go-to food places in Baguio is Cafe by the Ruins.

Sagada: Bus Food

Just to show you how much of a fan of Sagada's yoghurt/yogurt I am, this is what I bought at the stopover on our way back to Baguio.

I am a yoghurt hardcore fanatic.
Oh and I partnered it with balut...
Note to self: They don't go well together. =P

Sagada: Breakfast at Masferre

Having heard of Masferre from her friends, my friend didn't want to pass-up the chance to try the "best pancakes" of Masferre herself. So on our last day, we had these for breakfast:

We both ordered coffee. I think pancakes goes better with coffee than tea.
Ham with cheese, egg, and lettuce sandwich - There are times when I just don't know how my crazy friend thinks. She tells me that we should eat at Masferre for the pancakes, then she orders a sandwich! Geeez.
As for me, of course I ordered the House Specialty - I think it was called the Farmer's meal or something. Anyway, it came with 3 pancakes (Ps. Menu says they make their own pancake batter. =P), bacon, fried banana and veggie garnish. It was homey-good!
And of course we ordered fresh yoghurt to finish our meal! Plain yoghurt for me friend.
All-star yoghurt for me. =P Well I ordered yoghurt with fresh fruits in season - it came with banana and papaya tidbits. I still prefer the yoghurts from Yoghurt house and Rock Inn Cafe.
